Rahul Narvekar of BJP became the new speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly with 164 votes in its favour and defeated Rajan Salvi of MVA who received 107 votes. Apart from this, Samajwadi Party and AIMIM also created distance from MVA as they didn't voted in favour of MVA in the speaker elections held today.
