WATCH: Delhi Police Constable Risks Life To Nab Snatcher By Knocking Him Off His Bike

The constable's heroic has helped the police to solve 11 cases of snatching in the city.

Incidents of pickpocketing, swiping mobile phones and snatching are very common in the national capital, Delhi. Most of them who commit the crime manage to escape. However, a Delhi police constable risked his life to catch a bike-riding snatcher of which the video has gone viral on the internet.

The surveillance footage shows constable Satyendra of Shahbad Dairy police chasing the snatcher and cornering him with his bike. As the snatcher tries to flee, the constable blocks his path with his bike, catches the thief by his shirt and stops him from escaping as he was knocked off from his two-wheeler.

The arrest has helped the police to solve 11 cases of snatching in the city.

The video was shared by the Delhi Police on the micro-blogging site Twitter with the caption in Hindi that translates into," Irrespective of his life, constable Satyendra of Shahbad Dairy police station arrested a snatcher. With the arrest of this snatcher, 11 cases were solved. Legal proceedings are on."

Since being shared, the video has garnered 134.7K views, 1,312 retweets and 8,931 likes. The comments box has been filled with praise for the constable.

On of the user wrote, "you are star. I know 2 days before just for a normal noise pollution also u arrived at 1am to help. And u actually sort that issue. Kudos to you for arriving before comes."

Another suggesting a bravery award for the constable wrote, "The daredevil Constable of Delhi Police should rewarded for catching hold of a Chain snatcher for his courageous act. Highly commendable."

"Being a retired police officer, I appreciate the courage of  Delhi police official. Congradulations. I request the higher officers  of Delhi police, that the police personal may be rewarded suitably," wrote a retired police officer.

"Kudo's to constable Satyendra for his heroic deed. We do have officers who do not hesitate to risk their lives in line of the duty. Hats off to you again, wrote a fourth.
