After Being Trolled For 'Dream To Leave India' Comment, Woman Offered Job By Truecaller CEO

Ekta, a student in Canada had in a casual interview replied to the person by saying that it was her 'dream to venture there and leave her home country.'

Few days after a video of a woman saying it was her dream to leave India and start a job overseas emerged online and sparked a lot of trolling, Truecaller CEO Alan Mamedi took a firm stance against online bullying and extended support to her by offering a job over a tweet.

“People really want to misunderstand her to make fun of her. This is not OK!! Ekta, don’t listen to all these clowns making fun of you. I think you’re cool and living the dream! When you’re done with school, you’re welcome to work at Truecaller in any of our offices around the (world),” Mamedi replied on the trending video.

Ekta, a student in Canada had in a casual interview replied to the person by saying that it was her 'dream to venture there and leave her home country.' One being asked which is her native country Eka replied by saying India.

She also disclosed that she wants to make a career in business after completing her biotech degree in Canada. One being asked what she likes about the country, Ekta appreciated the beautiful scenery, sunrise, and sunset. The student had rarely anticipated that her casual interview will go viral and she will be trolled for her statement on her homeland.

However, Mamedi’s support for the woman has generated a mixed response.

"So, she can join without any interview after her studies?," commented one user on the post

"Yes, she’s perfect for true caller. That’ll be the perfect sunset for the company!, wrote another user.

While a third wrote, "don't get why she's getting so much hate. Studying abroad as a student is the biggest challenge!."

"Thanks for saying this, Alan. She's clearly excited to be living independently in a foreign country, and loves the *Canadian* scenery, sunrises and sunsets. It's vile to make fun of someone for lack of proficiency in a foreign language," commented a fourth.
