VIDEO: Traffic Cop Intercepts Car For Checking, Dragged Over 100 Metres In Shivamogga

The incident started after officer Prabhu signaled a car to stop for a routine check, but the driver allegedly responded aggressively and attempted to evade the officer.

Shivamogga news: A routine traffic check in Shivamogga turned into a dramatic incident when a police constable was dragged for over 100 metres on the bonnet of a moving car. The incident occurred near Sahyadri College around 2 PM, involving a traffic officer named Prabhu and a driver identified as Mithun.

According to eyewitness, the incident began when traffic police were conducting vehicle inspections in the area. Officer Prabhu signaled a car to stop for a routine check, but the driver allegedly responded aggressively and attempted to evade the officer. A bystander who recorded the incident captured the shocking moment when the driver accelerated while Prabhu was on the car’s bonnet.

Despite the officer’s attempts to stop the vehicle, Mithun kept driving for over 100 meters before finally coming to a halt. The officer was fortunate to escape without severe injuries.

The video of the incident quickly went viral on social media, sparking outrage among viewers. Public criticism has been directed towards both the driver’s dangerous actions and the frustrations citizens face due to frequent traffic fines. This event has reignited discussions around road safety and the treatment of law enforcement officials.

Local authorities have registered a case and are investigating the identity of the accused to determine his motive and confirm if he was indeed the owner of the vehicle. Officials have emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic regulations and respecting law enforcement personnel to prevent similar incidents in the future.
