This Viral Clip Of Elephant Trying To Revive Its dead Calf Will Break Your Heart

There can be no greater grief than a mother losing her child. Whether it is human or animal the pain is the same. One such video gone viral on the internet has deeply moved people, bringing tears to their eyes. In the clip shared on the microblogging site Twitter,  a mother elephant can be seen trying to revive its dead calf.

The baby elephant had died 3 days back after it strayed from the herd. But the mother carried the baby for up to 2 km and tried to revive it by placing in a river stream.

"This broke my heart. The calf has died but the mother doesn’t give up. Carries the dead baby for two KMs and tries to revive it by placing in water. And the mother’s cries ranting in the air,” reads the caption of the video shared by Indian Forest officer Susanta Nanda.

Since being shared the video has amassed close to 47,000 views and several comments.

"Heart breaking.. had the misfortune of seeing something similar few years back..," commented one user on the post.

"Very sad to see the Mother's Sorrow," wrote another user.

"OM God, so so heartbreaking and a terrible scenario for a mother and her love for her baby knows no boundaries still trying, commented a third.

"The depth of a mother's bond and love knows no bounds - be it a human or an animal mother, wrote a fourth.
