This Cheesy And ‘Most Extreme Butter Dosa’ Ever Has Netizens Fuming. Watch Video
The video of ‘Matka Dosa’ sold by a street vendor in Delhi was posted by The Food Ranger on Facebook on January 21.
New Delhi: Another dosa preparation by a street food vendor is taking the social media by storm, with a video shot by flood vlogger The Food Ranger being shared widely.
The video posted on Facebook on January 21 calls the ‘Matka Dosa’ sold by a street vendor in Delhi the ‘most extreme butter dosa tower’.
While vlogger Trevor James, who runs The Food Ranger channel on YouTube, said it "looks incredibly delicious", netizens are not impressed. Some said this was a recipe for “heart attack”, while others requested people not to “kill” the popular South Indian dish.
“Don’t do this to our humble dosa,” a user posted in the comment section on Facebook.
Trevor James shot the video during his recent trip to India. He calls himself a “hungry traveler” who travels the world and showcases different street foods and local cuisines in his videos.
The dosa video has a vendor first spreading the dosa batter on a large griddle and then melts butter from a 500g block using a torch. He then adds chopped onions, capsicum, tomatoes, a lot of cheese, topped with schezwan sauce, coconut chutney, a dash of spices, a “tiny bit of mint mayo” and “lots ot tandoori mayo”, and cream.
The vendor goes on to mash all the ingredients before adding some paneer cubes, tomato juice “for acidity”, and some more butter. He scrapes this mixture off the dosa and puts it in a bowl, before torching it once and adding coriander leaves. Once the mixture is in the bowl, he adds more cheese and torches them.
The video then shows the vendor folding the dosa in the shape of a cone, which he puts in the bowl of the masala he prepared earlier.
And it’s not over yet. In go some more cream, and a lot more cheese, before the Matka Dosa is ready to be served.
Clips from the video were shared on Twitter also where users seemed to simply reject it, making comments such as “anything but dosa”, “cold blooded murder”, “how not to make a Dosa!” and “Coronary artery disease on a plate!”

The dosa was brutally killed in cold-blooded murder. The murder weapon is suspected to be the butter but the investigations are still going on...Doctors have confirmed the cause of death is due mixing of tandoori mayo and mint mayo...#RIP_DOSA https://t.co/naVgElF8eO
