'This Isn't Your F****** India. Don't Call My Wife...': Man At US Store Slams Indian-Origin Employee | VIDEO

A Kansas Popeyes employee's compliment to a customer's wife sparked a heated clash, with racial undertones and divided reactions online. Netizens are now debating if it was harmless or inappropriate.

A purported misunderstanding led to a massive altercation between a man at a US fast food chain store in Kansas, US, and an employee, who appeared to be of Indian origin. The altercation started after the Indian-origin 'Popeyes' employee called the customer's wife "beautiful".

However, the nationality of either of the men could not be confirmed.

The customer confronted the employee for complimenting his wife: "You are looking so beautiful." This offended the customer, who slammed the employee, calling the employee a "creep": "Why the f*** would you say that? My wife comes to pick up a sandwich. Is she crazy to sit through these compliments from these creeps?"

"This is not your f*****g country. This is not India or something, dude. You are in the States... It is never ok to talk to a woman you do not know and talk about her looks," the customer said.

The employee profusely apologised and said: "I did say that she is beautiful, but you are taking it the wrong way. I did not say or mean it like that."

Internet Divided Over Remark And Customer's Nationality

Netizens seemed to be divided over the incident, with some hurling racial slurs at the Indian employee of the Kansas Popeyes outlet, while others wanted to school the customer for purportedly making a big deal out of nothing. One X user said: "Spoiling it for the rest of us... How many people have had a more pleasant day after a random compliment from someone?"

Another user posted: "Wowwww this situation has everything insecurity, geography lessons, and zero compliments for the wife Bro skipped “you’re beautiful” and went sassier and said Actually, it’s not India, it’s the STATES (wait for being kicked off soon)  he said your wife is pretty, not that he’s auditioning for Indian Matchmaking 😭 The man’s ego got drop-kicked by a compliment. Meanwhile the wife’s just standing there like, Damn, even the stranger noticed me before my husband did [sic]"

Another X user said: "Wokeness normalises everything. Why do employees need to comment on someone's look ? Unknown people complimenting me on my gold chain or watch is creepy as hell. Here its someone's partner. Commenting or complimenting on a customers appearances is not professional. Most Women feed on attention so they enjoy it. But these subtle infringements in long term disturb the harmony of a couple [sic]."

Many even seemed to think that the customer, too, was an Indian.
