Following the removal of the Indian flag from the Indian High Commission earlier on Sunday by pro-Khalistani protesters, Indians in the United Kingdom gathered at India House in London on Tuesday to show their support for their nation.
The diverse Indian community that has settled in Britain has shown unprecedented support following the desecration of the Indian Flag on Sunday.
To show their support for the Indian flag and the unity of India, expats from all over the UK traveled to London. The group categorically denied the existence of Khalistan, stating that there are no interested parties.
"We demand action, not statements from Sadiq Khan and from the British government," one protester declared, quoted ANI.
Protesters were shown dancing to the Slumdog Millionaire song "Jai Ho" in a video. Importantly, British security personnel were also observed shaking a leg with Indian diaspora members to the upbeat patriotic tune during this peaceful protest.
"It was my duty to come out in support of India and the Indian government after what happened on Sunday. I think it is very important that we express our disappointment and anger at the insult of the Indian flag. We all are standing united under our Tricolour," said another protester.
A pro-Khalistan protestor in London climbed the High Commission of India's balcony and pulled down the Indian banner, on Sunday.
On social media, a video of the same incident had gone viral. The Khalistani protester can be seen attempting to lower the Indian flag from the balcony in the video that has gone viral. At the end of the video, another man climbs inside the balcony to protect the flag from further harm.
