‘Kadam Kadam Par Maut Ka Khel’: Viral Video Shows Sparks from Welding on Gurugram NH-8
A viral video from Gurugram shows workers welding a billboard on NH-8 while vehicles pass under falling sparks. No traffic control or fire safety precautions are in place, raising safety concerns.
Gurugram, the IT capital and one of the most rapidly progressing cities in the country, always stays in the news headlines, especially when a video of speeding cars jumping over a speed breaker goes viral. And now, once again, an administrative failure has been captured in a video and spread like wildfire on social media.
The video shows the construction of a billboard, with two men seen performing welding. The dangerous part of the clip was that vehicles were passing under the sparks falling from the ongoing welding.
According to the video, the scene was captured on National Highway 8 in Gurugram. Some vehicles were passing under the sparks, some were trying to go around, and others were waiting for the welding to finish so they could safely move on.
The video was shared by an X user named Theskindoctor13 yesterday with a caption that reads, “Scenes from NH-8, Gurugram. No traffic diversion or control, no fire safety precautions, no work zone isolation — a perfect recipe for disaster! Jis hisaab se desh mein kadam kadam par maut ka khel chalta hai, yahan zinda rehna bhi apne aap mein ek uplabdhi hi hai.”

Users Reaction to the Viral Video
“Life in this country is quickly turning into the ultimate luxury item—soon to be out of reach for most. Don’t be surprised if Nirmala Sitharaman slaps a 35% GST on it, declaring it a ‘sin tax’ for the audacity of simply being alive here,” said one of the users.
Another user said, “We all saw on social media what happened on the Jaipur Ajmer highway just a week ago. Lessons not learnt.”
A third user wrote, “This is criminal level negligence. If god forbid a vehicle with leaking fuel tank, or a tanker truck with vapours releasing from its top hatch passes underneath this, immediate explosion and multiple fatalities will occur. Even the workers doing the job will die…”
“Survive now, thrive later,” added a fourth user.
