Air India Offers Full Refund To Entrepreneur After 'Worst First-Class Cabin' Review Video Goes Viral

Patel also noted the lack of Wi-Fi on the flight. In response, Air India said it has begun offering Wi-Fi on the A350-900 aircraft for routes between Delhi and London’s Heathrow Airport

Air India gave a full refund to Anip Patel, CEO of CaPatel Investments, following his critical review of the airline's business-class service that went viral on social media. Patel detailed his unsatisfactory experience on a 15-hour flight from Chicago to New Delhi through Instagram, claiming it was one of his worst business-class journeys. His viral post highlighted multiple issues, including the cabin's poor condition and inadequate amenities.

In the posted video, Patel highlighted several problems in the first-class cabin, including torn and stained upholstery, loose compartments, and lacklustre cleanliness. He also pointed out that the in-flight entertainment was non-functional for the entire journey. His post sparked considerable public response, with many users sharing similar frustrations and voicing their concerns about the airline.

"I recently endured a 15-hour non-stop flight from Chicago to Delhi, and it was far from pleasant. I had heard negative things about Air India in the past, but I was hoping the recent changes under new management would improve the experience—unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. There was no Wi-Fi, and the in-flight entertainment was down for the entire flight. First class was in poor condition—unclean, with leftover food and trash still in the cabin, and everything looked worn out or broken. It was a pretty frustrating experience overall. Be aware if you’re flying with them," Patel wrote in his Instagram post.

Patel also noted the lack of Wi-Fi on the flight. In response, Air India said it has begun offering Wi-Fi on the A350-900 aircraft for routes between Delhi and London’s Heathrow Airport.

The viral post sparked a diverse range of reactions from social media users. While some supported Patel's criticisms, others expressed optimism that Air India’s ongoing improvements would enhance its services.

In the comment section, Patel informed his followers, “I did not file any complaint with @airindia but through social media they saw this video - they called me today and refunded my entire flight 🇮🇳 they did make it right and it's worth noting.”
