Telangana: TSRTC To Celebrate 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' For 12 Days Starting August 10

From August 13 to 15, the National Flag of India will be installed on all TSRTC buses.

Hyderabad: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) is ready to celebrate 75 years of India's Independence for 12 days with great enthusiasm, said its Managing Director VC Sajjanar. The 12-day series of activities to commemorate "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" will start on August 10 and end on August 21.

RTC Chairman Bajireddy Govardhan and Managing Director VC Sajjanar also announced a generous offer as part of these celebrations on Monday. As part of that, they have decided to provide free travel in all city buses in the state to all the children born on August 15 till they complete 12 years.

Playing the national anthem daily at 11 AM at all TSRTC stations is another event starting on August 10th. This is intended to instill a sense of pride and patriotism among its passengers and the wider public.

From August 13 to 15, the National Flag of India will be installed on all TSRTC buses. Telangana RTC management has directed that all employees attend the duties with Amrit Mahotsav badges.

Besides, on the occasion of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav this August 15, TSRTC planning some giveaways. Here are some of the offers for passengers:

  • For TSRTC cargo services, parcels weighing less than 1 kg have been provided free of charge up to 75 km. However, this facility was provided only on August 15.
  • One trip ticket will be given free to top-75 passengers.
  • Passengers going to the airport will need to pay only 75 per cent of the fare if they use the Pushpak Airport Liner service to go to Shamshabad Airport from different parts of Hyderabad.
  • Senior citizens above 75 years of age have been given the facility of free medical tests at RTC Hospital in Tarnaka from August 15 to 22. For those under 75 years of age, a package of medical tests has been given for Rs.750.
  • RTC Chairman Bajireddy Govardhan and Managing Director VC Sajjanar called upon the beneficiaries to use these facilities.
