According to WhatsApp, status updates are a great way to stay connected with friends and family, and these new features aim to make them more interactive. Users can now like others' statuses and reshare any status they are tagged in.

Additionally, users can privately mention contacts in their status updates. This allows them to ensure close connections don’t miss important updates, with private notifications sent to the tagged individuals.
