"Thank you very much. As a team, we are happy. I know all of the nation will be happy with this win. Onto the next game. First time we beat them in 2023 World Cup. I think I keep saying, we keep improving day by day as a team. That's what we showed in the last couple of World Cups. Today, I think it was a tense game. We controlled it well and got the result," said Hashmatullah Shahidi.
"(On Ibrahim Zadran) He's absolutely brilliant, talented guy. We were three down early. Too much pressure but that partnership between him and me was good. It was one of the best innings I have seen in ODI cricket. Azmat also played well after I lost my wicket. He played with very good intent. He scored runs, and with the ball, he took wickets when the pressure was on," said Afghanistan Captain.
"The beauty of our team is that we have talented youngsters as well as experienced guys. Everyone knows their role. Hopefully, we take this momentum to the Australia game. 100 percent it will give us a lot of confidence. That game will decide whether we go to semis or not. We will try to control what we can on the field," he added.
