Twitter Will Now Let Organisations Verify Themselves, Affiliates: Check Out Plan Price

Verified organisations will need to pay Rs 4,120 additionally per month for affiliated accounts.

Twitter on Friday started rolling out its new ‘Verified Organization’ feature, which will help businesses, non-profits, and government bodies to sign up and manage their own verifications and also affiliate any related account on the microblogging platform. The feature is being rolled out across the globe. While government organisations will get a grey tick and a circular avatar (or profile photo) on feeds, business or non-profit bodies will get a gold checkmark and a square avatar.

“Rather than relying on Twitter to be the sole arbiter of truth for which accounts should be verified, vetted organizations that sign up for verified organisations are in full control of vetting and verifying accounts they’re affiliated with,” Twitter Verified (@verified) posted on the platform. 

Organisations will need to approve affiliated accounts from their end, after which related accounts will get an affiliate badge with the company’s logo. The account will also be featured on the company’s Twitter profile, to help users verify their affiliations. Twitter clarified that whichever company will join its Verified Organization list will be thoroughly vetted.

Twitter added that it has already seen companies such as “sports teams, news organisations, financial firms, Fortune 500 companies, and non-profits” who have signed up for the service. Twitter is now in the process of sending invitations to waitlested companies via email. Organisations can also sign up for the waitlist via twitter.com/i/en/verifiedorganizations/apply.

Sharing the news on Twitter, CEO Elon Musk said that in order to avoid impersonation, organisations should establish if an individual is actually affiliated or not.

Twitter Verified Organization Service Price In India

In the US, organisations will be charged $1,000 per month for the service. For affiliate seat subscription, companies will face a charge of $50 per month.

In India, organisations will be charged Rs 82,300 per month, and Rs 4,120 additionally per month for affiliated seats.
