Truecaller Turns Users Into Scam Busters With New ‘Scamfeed’ Feature

Truecaller's new tool taps into the power of crowds to fight rising digital fraud.

Truecaller has launched Scamfeed, a new community-driven feature that lets users report, share, and stay up to date with the latest online scams. Built into the Truecaller app, this real-time feed acts as a social alert system where users across India can flag suspicious activity and help each other stay protected from digital threats.

Rather than relying solely on tech to filter out scams, Scamfeed puts the power in the hands of everyday users. It enables individuals to post their scam encounters, browse similar reports, and learn how to identify red flags. Whether it’s a fraudulent loan call, a phishing link, or a dating app con job, users can share anonymously and interact with others through comments, images, and links — all within the app.

‘Power of Community Is Paramount’

Tonmoy Goswami, Product Director of New Initiatives at Truecaller, underscored the thinking behind the launch. “The power of community is paramount in the fight against scams," he said. "Scamfeed harnesses the collective vigilance of millions of Truecaller users in India. By providing a safe space to share real experiences and warnings, we empower people to stay ahead of fraudsters, learn from each other, and ultimately protect themselves and their loved ones. It embodies our commitment to making communication smarter, safer and more efficient."

Scamfeed is more than just a bulletin board. It’s a real-time intelligence network where users can verify scam attempts against others’ reports, making it easier to ignore shady calls and messages. There's also a dedicated website offering deeper resources — tips on spotting scams, reporting fraud, and best practices for digital safety.

A Step Toward Safer Conversations

The feature also signals a broader strategic direction for Truecaller. By encouraging users to interact over shared experiences, the platform is fostering trust, loyalty, and long-term engagement. The company believes that the sense of collective defence against fraud will create tighter bonds between users and the brand.

“Scamfeed isn’t just a feature; it’s a movement,” Truecaller said in a statement. The tool is currently available to users in India and is expected to expand globally in the near future.

Real Stories, Real Warnings

Scamfeed welcomes posts on a wide range of fraud types — from impersonation to financial scams — while maintaining user privacy through anonymous sharing options. And with seamless integration into platforms like WhatsApp, users can now spread the word faster than ever before.

In a digital world where scam tactics evolve by the day, Truecaller’s new initiative is a timely reminder that the best defence may just be a well-informed community.
