Twitter Threatens To Sue Meta
Twitter has reportedly issued a warning of potential legal action against Meta following the launch of Thread. As reported by sources within the Twitter community, the microblogging platform is accusing Meta of engaging in deliberate and unlawful misappropriation of Twitter's trade secrets, intellectual property, as well as unauthorised data scraping from Twitter. These allegations have been conveyed to Zuckerberg by the lawyer representing Elon Musk, Alex Spiro. In response to these developments, Musk tweeted, "Competition is acceptable, but unethical practices will not be tolerated." This statement suggests that a significant legal battle may ensue regarding the Threads app.

Interestingly, Twitter itself got sued by a former employee who alleges that the company neglected to cover the expected expenses related to legal arbitration. The ex-employee initiated the lawsuit on July 3 in the Northern District of California. The legal action asserts that Twitter, under the ownership of Musk, has demonstrated an unwillingness to participate in arbitration procedures with former employees who were terminated following Musk's acquisition of the company. These employees were initially encouraged to employ the arbitration process as a means to address concerns encompassing unpaid wages, unfulfilled severance agreements, and instances of discrimination.
