India Top Victim Of Cyberattacks Last Year

India is the highest targeted country, when it comes to cyberattacks, with 13.7 per cent of all attacks last year. The US comes second with 9.6 per cent, followed by Indonesia and China with 9.3 per cent and 4.5 per cent, respectively, a new report said on Monday. As per cybersecurity firm Cyfirma, India was the most targeted country in 2022, as attacks on government agencies more than doubled last year. The second half of last year witnessed 95 per cent more cyberattacks on government agencies as compared to the same period in 2021. Notably, state-sponsored cyberattacks in the country saw an increase of more than 100 per cent in 2022 compared to 2021.

Palo Alto Networks Buys Talon Cyber Security

On Monday, Palo Alto Networks confirmed its acquisition of Israel-based Talon Cyber Security, known for its enterprise browser technology, in a deal said to be worth $625 million. Earlier last week, Palo Alto Networks also acquired Dig Security, a Cloud data specialist, in a deal reportedly valued at around $400 million. Talon's Enterprise Browser technology offers an advanced solution that, in conjunction with “Prisma SASE,” facilitates secure access to business applications across various devices, including mobile and non-corporate devices, ensuring a smooth user experience.

Smartphone Shipments In The US Fall 19 Per Cent

Smartphone shipments in the US declined by 19 per cent in the third quarter (Q3) of 2023, says a new report. The brands that witnessed the steepest decline were Samsung, Google and TCL. Samsung, Google and TCL saw decline of 26 per cent, 37 per cent, and 51 per cent, respectively. Brands such as Lenovo-owned Motorola and Nokia HMD grew their shipments by 31 per cent and 17 per cent, as compared to the same period last year, says a report by Counterpoint Research.

Apple May Refresh Entire iPad Line Next Year

Apple's iPad series, including the standard iPad, iPad Pro, Mini, and iPad Air, is gearing up for upgrade next year, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The much-awaited among these updates will be the iPad Pro models, anticipated to launch with the updated M3 chip and OLED displays available in 11 and 13-inch sizes. Gurman noted that throughout 2023, Apple did not introduce a new iPad, which is a departure from the company's traditional pattern of iPad releases.
