Apple May Refresh Entire iPad Line Next Year
The arrival of new iPad models are likely to be delayed until 2024.
Apple's iPad series, including the standard iPad, iPad Pro, Mini, and iPad Air, is gearing up for upgrade next year, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The much-awaited among these updates will be the iPad Pro models, anticipated to launch with the updated M3 chip and OLED displays available in 11 and 13-inch sizes. Gurman noted that throughout 2023, Apple did not introduce a new iPad, which is a departure from the company's traditional pattern of iPad releases.
With only two months remaining in the year, he speculates that the arrival of new iPads might be delayed until 2024.
"Apple could have tried to rush out more new products, but revamped iPads and AirPods aren’t yet ready. The company plans to update its entire iPad lineup during 2024. New low-end AirPods are coming next year as well, with a refreshed Pro model following in 2025," Gurman has noted.
Gurman had hinted at the future iPad Pro models a few months back, revealing Apple's development of the next-generation M3 chip. These highly anticipated iPad Pro models are set to mark the tech giant's inaugural use of OLED displays for iPads, offering deep blacks and vibrant colours. Additionally, the forthcoming iPad Pro models are projected to debut in both 11 and 13-inch sizes, with the larger 13-inch variant slightly larger than the current 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
To recall, the 2022 iPad lineup — iPad (10th generation) and iPad Pro (2022) were unveiled in a surprise launch by Apple. The iPad variant comes with a USB Type-C port, instead of Apple’s standard Lightning port. Powered by the A14 Bionic chip, it sports a 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display as well as a landscape front camera. The iPad Pro, on the other hand, is powered by Apple’s new M2 chip and comes in two sizes: 11 and 12.9 inches. The iPad Pro (2022) comes in four storage configurations — 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB. It will be available in both Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + Cellular models.
The 2022 iPad comes in two storage configurations — 64GB and 256GB. It will also come in Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + Cellular models.
