Realme C61 Budget Smartphone Launched
Smartphone manufacturer Realme unveiled its newest device, the Realme C61, which is scheduled to go on sale on June 28. This device is aimed at the entry-level market. The Realme C61 has been launched in Safari Green and Marble Black colour options. It is priced at Rs 7,699 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, Rs 7,999 for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, and Rs 8,099 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The device's sale will commence from June 28 at noon on Realme's official website, Flipkart, and other major retail channels.
India To Adopt Common Charger Law For Smartphones And Tablets
Starting June 2025, all new smartphones and tablets sold in India will be required to feature a standard charging port, allowing a single charger and cable to power multiple devices. This regulation is similar to the "universal phone charger" law implemented by the European Union (EU). India's common charging law will extend to laptops in 2026 but will not apply to basic phones and wearables at this time, according to three informed sources, says a report by Mint.

The report mentioned that Foxconn has been systematically excluding married women from positions at its primary iPhone assembly plant in India. The report, based on accounts from former and current employees, revealed that Foxconn did not hire married women at its plant in Sriperumbudur, near Chennai, due to concerns over family duties, pregnancy and higher absenteeism.

Fifth-generation (5G) subscriptions are poised to hit around 840 million by the end of 2029, accounting for 65 per cent of mobile subscriptions in India, says a new report.
