Bio-Hacking Tech Millionaire Bryan Johnson's Face 'Blows Up' After Facial Fat Procedure: Here's What Went Wrong

Johnson recently posted a startling close-up on Instagram, revealing his face swollen and bright red after undergoing a procedure to inject fat from a "donor" into his face.

Bryan Johnson, a millionaire tech entrepreneur and leading figure in the anti-ageing movement, has made headlines with his relentless pursuit of a longer, healthier life. Johnson’s ambitious experiments aim to reverse ageing and extend the human lifespan to 150 years. However, his latest venture, “Project Baby Face,” has highlighted the risks and uncertainties of his cutting-edge methods.

On November 14, Johnson posted a startling close-up on Instagram, revealing his face swollen and bright red after undergoing a procedure to inject fat from a "donor" into his face.

This experiment was an attempt to restore a youthful appearance, as his strict 1,950-calorie diet had caused him to lose facial fat, leaving him looking gaunt. “My biomarkers were improving, but people thought I was on the brink of death,” Johnson explained.

What Happened With The Procedure?

The procedure didn’t go as planned. Within 30 minutes, Johnson’s face began swelling uncontrollably, resulting in what he described as a severe allergic reaction. “It just kept getting worse and worse until I couldn’t even see,” he wrote. Despite his condition, Johnson followed through with a scheduled meeting with a Bloomberg reporter, jokingly warning them that they might not recognize him. Fortunately, after seven days, the swelling subsided, and his face returned to normal.

This isn’t Johnson’s first venture into unconventional anti-ageing methods. His ambitious Project Blueprint incorporates a range of experimental practices, including blood transfusions from his teenage son, gene therapy injections, and an extremely regimented diet supplemented with his own Blueprint-branded nutritional products. Some of these methods, like the controversial "young blood" transfusions, have faced scrutiny and lack FDA approval, but Johnson remains undeterred.

Despite the occasional setback, Johnson continues to push the boundaries of science in his quest to defy ageing. His experiments, while polarizing, reflect his unwavering commitment to blending technology, biology, and innovation to redefine the limits of human life.
