Bageshwar Baba Interview: Dhirendra Shastri Reveals the Turning Point That Changed His Life
In an interview on ABP News’ podcast “The Journey with Romana,” Bageshwar Dham Peethadhishwar Dhirendra Shastri spoke about his childhood, spiritual journey, personal struggles and views on today’s youth. He recalled growing up in poverty, living in a small house, struggling for food and seeing his mother wear torn clothes. According to him, a turning point came when his grandfather, a spiritual guru and Hanuman devotee, initiated him during a night-time ritual when he was around nine years old. He described the experience as a “power transfer” that changed his life. Shastri said that after this experience, he began experiencing strong intuition and later became known for reading people’s problems and preparing “parchis.” He also spoke about his childhood interactions with teachers, his lack of formal education and his regret about not learning English properly. Discussing fame and followers, he said he does not feel ego because he believes everything he has received is due to Balaji and his guru. He also discussed Gen Z, saying young people should raise their voices but maintain discipline, awareness and restraint. He opposed abusive or undignified behaviour during protests while supporting the right to protest peacefully.
