LinkedIn on Thursday announced it has added Hindi language support, in a bid to reach the Hindi-speaking community of more than 600 million globally.
New Delhi: Professional networking major LinkedIn on Thursday announced it has added Hindi language support, in a bid to reach the Hindi-speaking community of more than 600 million globally.
With 82 million LinkedIn members, India is the company's second-largest market, the Microsoft-owned service added.
"You will now be able to create your LinkedIn profile in Hindi, making it easier for other Hindi-speaking members and recruiters to find you for relevant opportunities. You can also access the feed, jobs, messaging, and create content in Hindi," Ashutosh Gupta, LinkedIn India Country Manager, said in a statement.
This is the Phase 1 roll-out of LinkedIn in Hindi, and from now onwards LinkedIn members will be able to access their feed, profile, jobs, messaging and create content in Hindi on desktop as well as on Android and iOS devices.
"We understand that community and conversations are extremely personal, and so is language. To support more local language content, we will continue to add more Hindi publishers and creators to the platform over the coming months," Gupta added.
With the addition of the Hindi language, LinkedIn now supports 25 languages globally. The company added that it will continue to evaluate other regional languages as it intends to create equitable economic opportunities for every member of the workforce and to help diverse professional communities come together on the platform.
Meanwhile, the professional networking platform recently introduced a dedicated remote, hybrid and on-site search filters to help users on their next job hunt.
At the same time, the professional networking platform is adding similar filters for company pages, allowing them to indicate things like their vaccine policies and return-to-office plans, the report said. In testing the filters, LinkedIn said it saw more than 70 per cent of searches involve people looking for remote-only roles.
