New Delhi: Oppo has revealed its ColorOS 12 update plan for December 2021 in China, according to reports. ColorOS 12 is the new interface for Oppo smartphones and is based on Android 12. The open beta or public beta builds can be accessed by a total of 11 devices, and as many as eight handsets will be upgraded to the stable channel. Open beta is one of the phases for modern software development and the time when a company either gives early access to a mostly developed or fully developed software title. 

Oppo is said to be the only major smartphone brand that releases monthly OS upgrade schedules for its devices. The handsets that will be updated to the beta and stable versions of the Android 12-based ColorOS 12 interface have been detailed in the latest timeline announced by Oppo for its home country China. 

Selected handsets from this year and the previous year will receive open beta builds, as per the schedule. The stable update will be received by the previous year's flagship Oppo Find X2 series and this year's Oppo Reno 6 series. 

Beginning with ColorOS 7, Oppo started improving its OS upgrade delivery. The company is setting the bar high with ColorOS 12. Depending on various factors, the update timeline is subject to change.
