Nothing Phone (2a) May Launch AT MWC. Key Specs And Details Surface

Leakster Yogesh Brar has tipped that the Nothing Phone 2a may feature a 120Hz OLED panel, Dimensity 7200 SoC.

Consumer tech start-up Nothing, led by Carl Pei, is working on a new phone, and recently surfaced images show this upcoming device, purportedly the 'Phone (2a)', on social media. This would be the company's third smartphone following Phone (1) and Phone (2). There have been some speculations about the new product, and additional information about the Nothing Phone (2a), courtesy of Dylan Roussel, a user, gives a glimpse of the Nothing's upcoming phone via a video.

Indian tipster Yogesh Brar has also tipped key details and specifications of the purported Nothing Phone (2a) via a post on X, formerly Twitter. Brar's post revealed key details of the phone. He has tipped that the Nothing Phone 2a may feature a 120Hz OLED panel, Dimensity 7200, 8/128GB configuration, a 50MP dual camera setup, Nothing OS 2.5 based on Android 14, a fresh back design, a redesigned Glyph, and Glyph controls similar to Phone 2, is set to launch at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 and may arrive at a compelling package for $400.

According to Brar, the phone might debut at the 2024 edition of MWC in Barcelona, with an expected price of around $400 (which roughly translates into Rs ₹33,000).

Meanwhile, Manu Sharma, vice president and general manager, Nothing India recently announced his departure from the company. He will leave Nothing at the end of January 2024.

Sharma cited personal reasons for leaving the company and expressed confidence in Nothing India's strong product lineup for 2024, making note of the capable team in place. He made the announcement via a LinkedIn post. In February 2021, London-headquartered Nothing had appointed Sharma, previously senior director of mobile business at Samsung India, just ahead of the launch of their inaugural device, the Nothing Phone (1).

London-based start-up Nothing has, meanwhile, has confirmed plans to host an event at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) next year on February 27th, where expectations are high from the brand. Nothing is likely to reveal details about its upcoming offerings.

Meanwhile, Nothing Phone (2), the second smartphone from London-based consumer electronics brand Nothing, debuted in India in July this year and six months later, the company announced a significant price cut on the phone. Its prices were cut by Rs 5,000, earlier this month. Available on e-commerce site Flipkart, the base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage is now priced at Rs 39,999. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, the phone features a distinctive Glyph interface, a dual rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor, and is powered by a 4,700mAh battery.
