Google Expands Retail Presence, After-Sales Support In India

One Google-owned walk-in centre will open in Delhi and Bengaluru tomorrow (August 14), and a third in Mumbai is slated to open soon after.

Google on Tuesday, August 13, announced the opening of three Google-owned walk-in centres in India, in a bid to expand its retail and after-sales support un the country. One Google-owned walk-in centre will open in Delhi and Bengaluru tomorrow (August 14), and a third in Mumbai is slated to open soon after, the tech giant said. At these exclusive centres, Google device owners will receive the "highest levels" of service for their products. Whether it is repairing a device, replacing it, or resolving a query -- the trained staff at these centres will assist with all of these, and in many cases will turn around the device within the same day.

Google's announcement of expansion of retail footprint for Pixel devices in India comes more than a year after Apple opened its official stores in India in Mumbai and New Delhi.

This increased availability spans 15 urban centres throughout the country, making it easier for buyers to experience and purchase Pixel devices in person. This follows the announcement of the tech giant strengthening its "Make in India" initiative. Google has begun locally assembling its flagship Pixel 8 smartphone in the country. This move aligns with the government's push for domestic production of electronic goods. Google also continues to increase its investment and presence in one of the world's largest smartphone markets.
