Apple Warns Users Not To Sleep Next To Charging iPhones. Here's Why

As per the Cupertino-based tech giant's advisory, iPhones should be charged only in environments that are well-ventilated.

Apple has warned users to not sleep next to iPhones that are being charged, citing health concerns. The tech giant has issued an advisory and according to that, no iPhone user should sleep on their device or place the iPhone, power adapter, or wireless charger under pillows, blankets, or against their body while they are connected to a power source. This has been mentioned in Apple's online user guide.

As per the Cupertino-based tech giant's advisory, iPhones should be charged only in environments that are well-ventilated. Furthermore, iPhones should be plugged in only while placed on flat surfaces such as tables. Users have been discouraged exclusively from plugging in their iPhones to a power source while placed on soft surfaces such as blankets, pillows, or on the body.

The primary message conveyed by the iPhone maker read: "Don't sleep on a device, power adapter, or wireless charger, or place them under a blanket, pillow, or your body when it's connected to a power source. Keep your iPhone, the power adapter, and any wireless charger in a well-ventilated area when in use or charging. Take special care if you have a physical condition that affects your ability to detect heat against the body."

iPhone users must ensure that their device, wireless charger and wired charger or adapter are plugged in at well-ventilated spaces. Furthermore, they are also advised to exercise caution if they have a medical condition that affects their heat detection ability.

Meanwhile, after iPhone models, Apple is set to begin assembling AirPods in India. A recent report by news agency PTI said that the tech giant is now set to assemble AirPods locally. Made-in-India true wireless earbuds AirPods Pro would likely go on sale soon. The tech giant is looking to manufacture the buds at the Foxconn facility in Hyderabad by December 2024, the report added, citing sources. The Cupertino-based tech giant currently manufactures non-pro iPhone models locally along with contract partners Foxconn, Wistron and Pegatron.
