Increase In Sales Projected
As reported by The Times of India, Industry experts attribute this success to more competitive pricing for the iPhone 16 Pro series, making it more appealing than previous generations. The report quoted Prabhu Ram, VP of Industry Research at CyberMedia Research, who highlighted that the new pricing strategy has widened the phone’s appeal, aligning with India’s growing demand for premium smartphones. CyberMedia projects a 30 per cent year-on-year increase in sales during the launch quarter.
As reported by The New Indian Express, Faisal Kawoosa, founder of TechArch, noted that market enthusiasm for the new iPhone series was strong across all sales platforms, including online and offline stores. According to him, premium models such as the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are proving especially popular.
Counterpoint’s Research Director, Tarun Pathak, predicts that Apple could achieve record iPhone sales this quarter in India, potentially reaching 12 million units. He attributes this surge to Apple’s India-specific strategy, substantial hardware upgrades, and users upgrading from older models like the iPhone 11 and 12.
The iPhone 16 series officially launched in India on September 20, with high demand leading to long queues in major cities like Mumbai and Delhi. In a new trend, quick-commerce platforms such as Blinkit and BB Now have partnered with Apple retailers to deliver the devices directly to customers’ homes within minutes of ordering.
