FRT: What Is Facial Recognition Technology And How Does It Work?

Nowadays, facial recognition technology is used in smartphones to make the phone secure and easy to lock. Let us know what it is and how it works.

Nowadays, smartphones have advanced technology. The lock system was started so that no one else could use the phone other than the owner. When this technology progressed, the pin and pattern lock was introduced. After a while, technology progressed further, and the fingerprint scanner was added. These days one needs to hold the smartphone in front of the face to unlock the phone. How can the phone be unlocked and what technology is being used? Here are the details. It is the Facial Recognition Technology that is being used. Let us know what it is and how it works.

What is Facial Recognition Technology?
Facial recognition technology is actually a part of biometric technology that helps a person to identify his face. It is also known as Biometric Artificial Intelligence Base Application, which is used to identify a person according to the shape of his/her eye, retina, nose, and face. A facial recognition system is used to identify people in a photo, video, or on a real-time basis. However, at times the system can prove dangerous, as recognized data may be erroneous. Due to the system error, innocent people may be labeled as criminals during police verification.

How does technology work?
Facial recognition technology works on an algorithmic scale, where you recognize the face you see, but the technology sees face data. That data can be stored and accessed. This technique opens the lock on the phone by reading the data. This technology is being used for security in most smartphones nowadays.
