As a result of the avalanche of tweets, several related hashtags dominated Twitter trends.
As the global outage of Facebook-owned apps persists for several hours, Twitter seized this opportunity to say "hello literally everyone", followed by WhatsApp waving back.
👋 hello!

While it is normal for websites and apps to suffer outages, one on a global scale lasting for several hours is rare to see. Users, in different parts of the world, reported being unable to access the applications. India has one of the highest numbers of users on Facebook as well as its other platforms.
As per government data shared earlier this year, India has 53 crore WhatsApp users, 41 crore Facebook users, and 21 crore Instagram users, news agency PTI reported.
