Long Form Tweets To Roll Out Early February, Elon Musk Confirms

Elon Musk announced in a tweet today that the long-form text feature may be rolled out early in February. Along with this, he also announced that Twitter's UI will undergo significant changes.

Twitter chief Elon Musk on Sunday announced that long-form tweet feature may be introduced on Twitter early in February and that the microblogging site will undergo significant interface modifications. In a tweet, Musk announced a number of upcoming modifications to Twitter's user interface. In his tweet, he said: "Easy swipe right/left to move between recommended vs followed tweets rolls out later this week. First part of a much larger UI overhaul. Bookmark button (de facto silent like) on Tweet details rolls out a week later. Long form tweets early Feb."

The microblogging platform will soon allow users to write long-form text in their tweets, which presently have a character restriction of 280, the Twitter CEO had said in November. He said: "Twitter will soon add ability to attach long-form text to tweets, ending absurdity of notepad screenshots."

The updates revealed today are the most recent in a string of modifications made after Elon Musk acquired control of the microblogging platform in a hostile $44 billion takeover.
