A Vacuum So Slim It Could Pass As A Pencil? Dyson's Newest Cleaner Does Just That

Dyson PencilVac has been introduced globally and is expected to arrive in the Indian market soon.

Dyson has just pushed the boundaries of vacuum cleaner design with its newest global launch — the PencilVac. Touted as the slimmest and lightest vacuum cleaner ever made, the PencilVac is touted to be a marvel of engineering, featuring a cylindrical body just 38mm in diameter. While its size is striking, it’s not just about looks — this minimalist cleaning tool comes packed with Dyson’s latest technologies.

The PencilVac has been introduced globally and is expected to arrive in the Indian market soon. While there's no official pricing for India yet, the product's premium design and high-performance specs suggest it will be aimed at the top tier of the home appliance segment.

Slim Profile, Serious Performance

Despite its slim frame, the PencilVac doesn’t compromise on performance. At its heart lies the new Dyson Hyperdymium 140k motor — what Dyson describes as its “fastest vacuum motor to date.” This next-generation motor hits up to 140,000 RPM, delivering 55AW of suction power while being 34% more energy-efficient than its predecessor.

Dyson also introduces “Fluffycones” in the PencilVac’s dual brush bars. These cone-shaped bars rotate in alternating directions — some spin forward while others rotate backwards. This feature is designed to automatically detangle hair from the brush, ensuring that cleaning remains uninterrupted and maintenance-free.

Filtration That Doesn’t Quit

Another major highlight is the PencilVac’s two-stage linear dust separation system. According to Dyson, this advanced filtration mechanism “effectively separates dust and debris from the airflow without causing filters to clog or cleaning performance to decline.” It promises to capture 99.99% of particles as tiny as 0.3 microns. The device also features a hygienic syringe-style bin ejection system and a unique air-compressing bin, enhancing both user convenience and hygiene.

And yes, it’s cordless. So whether you’re chasing crumbs under the couch or tidying up bookshelves, the PencilVac’s ultra-lightweight and wireless design promises stress-free mobility. Users can also connect the cleaner to the MyDyson app for custom settings and updates.

India Launch On The Horizon

For now, the PencilVac is available in global markets, but Indian consumers will need to wait for a local release and pricing details. Given Dyson’s track record and the buzz surrounding this product, it’s likely to generate strong interest when it lands.

In Dyson’s own words, “It effectively separates dust and debris from the airflow without causing filters to clog or cleaning performance to decline.” With this launch, the company is clearly aiming to redefine what a modern vacuum cleaner can look like — and how well it can perform.
