Bluesky Becoming Another X? Teases Subscription Model & Profile Badges
According to the mockup interface on GitHub page, a Bluesky+ subscription is expected to be priced at $8 per month or $72 annually.

Bluesky is becoming a competitor to Elon Musk-owned X as users are shifting platforms with each day that passes. With the increase in users, Bluesky might be taking a path similar to X and becoming something that the users are trying to quit. Bluesky is in the works of offering paid features to users as part of a subscription package, and it might also soon be offering paid verification profile badges.
Bluesky recently published a user interface mockup of its subscription service called Bluesky+ on its GitHub page.

How Much Will Bluesky Plus Subscription Cost?
According to the mockup, a Bluesky+ subscription is expected to be priced at $8 per month or $72 annually. However, these pricing details are not yet set in stone. Dan Abramov, a software engineer at Bluesky, advised users that the features displayed in the UI mockup are also subject to change.
Bluesky in a response said, “Some of these are likely to make it, but please don’t take this as an actual list of planned features […] We’ll announce the actual list when more work is done.”
Bluesky had announced plans to implement a subscription model which would become a new revenue stream in October this year.
Verified Badge On Profiles
Users who sign up on Bluesky need to verify their email addresses to pass through the security checks and be able to create an account. The platform does not currently have any blue tick or profile badge system, as it relies on domain handles to serve as a form of verification for high-profile individuals and organisations but soon things might change.
Setting up a personal website as a username and verifying a Bluesky account currently involves a series of somewhat intricate steps. However, based on the UI mockup, Bluesky appears to be exploring the option of including profile badges as part of its subscription offering.
The potential Bluesky+ service might grant users access to several premium perks, such as enhanced video upload quality and personalized profile features like customizable colors and avatar frames. Other features reportedly being considered include custom app icons, a Bluesky+ badge for profiles, inline post translations, detailed post analytics, and organized bookmark folders.
