TN Minister In ED Custody: Sessions Court Dismisses Senthil Balaji's Petition Seeking 15 Days Remand Rejection

The judge is yet to hear arguments for Enforcement Directorate's petition for police custody.

The Principal Sessions Court rejected the petition moved by Tamil Nadu Minister Senthil Balaji seeking to reject his remand for 15 days in connection with a money laundering case. Senthil Balaji, who was arrested by ED on Wednesday, has been sent to judicial custody till June 28. 

According to ANI, "Principal Sessions Court rejects Tamil Nadu Minister Senthil Balaji's petition seeking to reject his remand of fifteen days. The judge is yet to hear arguments for Enforcement Directorate's petition for police custody."

Senthil Balaji was sent to judicial custody till June 28 by Sessions Court, in connection with a money laundering case.

Tamil Nadu Minister Senthil Balaji was sent to judicial custody till June 28 by Sessions Court on Tuesday. Principal Sessions Judge Alli visited the hospital and checked the health condition of the Minister. 

Senthil Balaji was arrested by the ED on Wednesday after the probe agency conducted searches at his residence and office for 18 hours. Later, the ED took to questioning and the Minister complained of chest discomfort. He also broke down on the way to the hospital.  He was then moved to the ICU of Tamil Nadu Multispeciality Hospital in Omandurar. Several Ministers including Udhayanidhi Stalin, Ma Subramanian, Sekar Babu, S Reghupathy and others visited the Minister at the hospital. Later, CM Stalin also met Senthil Balaji. 

The Ministers and his lawyer claim that Senthil Balaji was 'tortured' and 'unconscious' when he was admitted to the hospital. The lawyer also said that they were not officially informed about the arrest by ED.
