R Vaithilingam said, "Condemning the DMK and demanding justice, AIADMK will protest on 1st August, across Tamil Nadu."

Addressing the press, AIADMK's Jayakumar said, "Amma's government zeroed down and arrested the accused involved in Kodanad case in a swift manner. However, due to COVID, the case got delayed since the courts could not function at full strength. After DMK government came to power, the higher officials investigating the case said that 90% of the investigation into the case was over. However, suddenly the case was changed to CB-CID for investigation."

There are questions surrounding the probe, he said.

Kodanad heist-cum-murder case pertains to a break-in into the Kodanad estate, which was jointly owned by the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa and her aid V.K. Sasikala. During the heist, the accused also killed security officer Om Bahadhur and seriously injured another guard, Krishna Thapa.
