6 Dead As School Bus Coming From Wrong Side On Delhi-Meerut Expressway Collides With Car, Driver Nabbed

Six people have died and two critically injured after an SUV collided with a school bus on Delhi-Meerut Expressway in Ghaziabad.

At least six people were killed and two critically injured after an SUV collided with a school bus on Delhi-Meerut Expressway in Ghaziabad. According to ANI, the school bus had no student on it and was reportedly coming from the wrong direction. According to the police, the bus driver was coming from the wrong direction which caused the accident. Police nabbed the driver and said that the occupants of the car were members of the same family. The deadly incident was also caught in a CCTV camera.

RK Kushwaha, ADCP (traffic) said, "...Six people died on the spot, and two are critically injured. The bus driver was coming from the wrong direction after getting CNG from Ghazipur in Delhi. The TUV was coming from Meerut's direction and was on its way to Gurugram. It was the fault of the driver, he was coming from the wrong direction all the way from Delhi. He has been nabbed. The occupants of the car were members of the same family. There was no student on the bus...

News agency ANI posted visuals from the spot after the accident where police officials and a crowd can be seen.

Speaking on the incident, DCP Dehat Shubham Patel said, "The incident occurred at 6.04 am on Delhi-Meerut Expressway wherein a TUV which had eight people was hit by a school bus that was coming from the wrong direction. Six of the eight people died and two are critically injured - they are admitted to the hospital. The driver has been arrested, he is being questioned and stringent sections are being invoked in the FIR..."
