Amit Shah To Hold Talks With Chennai BJP Functionaries, Attend Public Meetings In TN, Andhra Today

Day after addressing gatherings in Gujarat & Maharashtra, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will today hold discussions with Chennai BJP office-bearers and attend public meetings in TN and Andhra Pradesh.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will today hold discussions with BJP functionaries and will later address a public meeting in Vellore in Tamil Nadu as part of his outreach programme to mark the nine years of the Modi government at the Centre. The minister will also attend a public meeting in Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam in the evening. The minister visited Gujarat and Maharashtra on Saturday and addresses public gatherings there where he told about the Centre's work and also attack the opposition. The minister reached Chennai airport late at night on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the visit seems to have boosted the spirit of the Tamil Nadu BJP as the chief of the state party unit, K Annamalai, said that he can 'see a lot of fear' on Chief Minister MK Stalin's face. Responding to Stalin's comment about what the BJP did for the state in the last nine years, Annamalai said that the party will answer the same on Sunday and ask 'what he has done for Tamil Nadu in the last 2 years'.

Talking to ANI, Annamalai said, "I see a lot of fear on CM's face. Tomorrow we will answer all the questions of the CM and ask him what he has done for Tamil Nadu in the last 2 years. I hope he will answer our questions as well. The people of Tamil Nadu do not want DMK party to be in power and want Assembly elections to be preponed by 3 years so that Lok Sabha and Assembly elections can be held in 2024."

Notably, CM Stalin on Saturday said that the BJP might announce Parliament polls earlier due to the recent loss in Karnataka, adding "BJP's influence is reducing across the country...I am asking Union Home Minister Amit Shah to release a list of what the Union Government did for Tamil Nadu in the last 9 years."
