Technician Locked Up Inside Clinic By Doctor In Mumbai, Rescued By Cops Hours Later

A technician was allegedly locked up inside a diagnostic centre in Mumbai's Kalyan by a doctor, however, Mumbai Police rescued him.

Mumbai Police rescued a technician working at a diagnostic centre in Maharashtra's Kalyan after he was allegedly locked up inside the premises by a doctor, said an official while talking to news agency PTI on Saturday.

The technician got locked up between Friday late night and Saturday early morning and was rescued after a few hours, after he called the police control room. An official of Kadakpada police station said that a case has been registered against the doctor, however, the motive behind this act is yet to be known.

The technician in his complaint said that he was at the diagnostic centre on duty when around 8:30 pm the doctor came and stared at him for some time without saying a word. Allegedly after an hour, the doctor left the premises after locking him up inside, reported PTI.

After he was locked up, he called the police control room to inform the cops that he was stuck inside.

Police arrived at the location soon after the call to rescue him.

A First Information Report (FIR) under Section 342 (wrongful confinement) of the Indian Penal Code was registered based on his complaint against the doctor at around 1:40 am.

The police official talking about the motive behind this act said, "The reason behind the doctor's act of locking up the technician is being probed."

In another event, Mumbai Police rescued three runaway Mumbai girls from a train that was headed toward Goa on March 22.

The girls had gone to play in the garden and were to return by 7 pm. After a fruitless search by their parents when they didn't return until late in the evening, a complaint was filed at the Kashimira police station.

Mumbai police subsequently learned that the girls fled because they were worried about receiving punishment for being out late.
