WATCH: Tamil Nadu CM Visits Iconic 'Iruttu Kadai' Halwa Shop During 2-Day Tirunelveli Visit
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin interacted with 'Iruttu Kadai' halwa shop staff, partook in the sweet treat with them and also purchased a packet of halwa.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK made a surprise visit to the world-famous 'Iruttu Kadai' halwa shop on Thursday during his two-day official tour of Tirunelveli district. After a busy day of meetings with DMK district secretaries and functionaries to discuss election strategies and review developmental projects, CM Stalin took time to visit the iconic halwa shop, much to the delight of the staff and locals.
The Chief Minister interacted with the shop's staff, inquired about the preparation process of the halwa, and even partook in the sweet treat with them. He also purchased a packet of halwa.
Further, he shared a picture of him from the shop "now and before" on X and said that he never misses to visit the shop whenever he visits Tirunelveli.

The staff at 'Iruttu Kadai' were pleasantly surprised by the Chief Minister's unexpected visit and expressed their joy at his gesture. The information of CM Stalin's visit quickly spread and drawing a large crowd of locals.
Located in Tirunelveli district, 'Iruttu Kadai' is renowned for its delicious halwa, which attracts visitors from across the country.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, after arriving in Thoothukudi by air and traveling to Tirunelveli by road, he held a roadshow, where he interacted with people lining the streets, received petitions and took selfies with supporters. He also inaugurated a solar power manufacturing plant and laid the foundation stone for another industrial unit.
Last year, a video of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi buying sweets from a shop in Coimbatore for his 'brother' Stalin went viral on social media. Rahul Gandhi was then visiting Tamil Nadu for his campaign for Lok Sabha elections when he paused his schedule to purchase Mysore Pak sweet.
