'Fake Secularists Helping Mamata's Chor Brigade': Suvendu Adhikari Hits Out At Left Front, TMC At Kolkata Rally
BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari criticised the Trinamool Congress, urging voters not to support Mamata before the Lok Sabha elections due to ongoing investigations and "malpractices" within the party.
Senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari called upon voters on Wednesday to withhold their support for Mamata Banerjee and her Trinamool Congress party as the country approaches the Lok Sabha elections, news agency PTI reported. Leading a significant rally from Garia More to Jadavpur 8B Bus Stand, attended by a large crowd, Adhikari criticised the Left Front for its previous anti-BJP stance, which he claimed facilitated the Trinamool Congress's return to power.
Adhikari called on the Left to reconsider their stance against the BJP, viewing it as the primary contender to challenge the Trinamool Congress in the state. He pointed to the recent developments in the Nandigram assembly seat, where the BJP emerged as a significant force against the Trinamool Congress.
"Not all leftists are bad. But there are many fake secularists who had abetted and aided Mamata Banerjee and her 'chor' (thieves) brigade. These fake secularists had helped pishi and bhaipo (Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee) to continue their malpractices," he was quoted as saying by PTI.
Furthermore, Adhikari highlighted actions taken against several TMC leaders by central agencies. "Under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, certain TMC figures have faced legal consequences," he stated, reassuring the public about the ongoing judicial processes. Addressing state government employees, Adhikari pledged to address disparities and ensure transparent hiring processes under the BJP administration, according to the report.
Regarding Banerjee's political strategies, Adhikari accused her of attempting to divide communities for electoral gains. He stated, "Both Hindus and Muslims have faced challenges under the TMC rule," challenging Banerjee's narrative on BJP's stance towards minorities.
Responding to these allegations, TMC state spokesperson Kunal Ghosh criticised Adhikari, referencing previous accusations against him related to financial scandals. Ghosh claimed that the BJP is using central agencies to undermine the TMC's influence, dismissing these actions as politically motivated, as reported by PTI.
