Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar stated the "investigation revealed that the accused's blood samples were replaced with those of his mother."

Pune Porsche Crash Case: Pune police arrested the mother of the 17-year-old accused in the Porsche car accident case. The development came after it was confirmed that the blood samples of the juvenile were replaced with those of his mother, the city police chief said on Saturday.

Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar stated that the "investigation into the accident revealed that the accused's blood samples were replaced with those of his mother."

Two days ago, the police had also told a local court that the blood samples of the minor were exchanged with those of a woman.

On May 27, the Pune police also arrested two doctors Ajay Tawade and Srihari Halnor, of the Sassoon General Hospital for allegedly manipulating the blood samples and destruction of evidence. Subsequently, the peon of the hospital was also arrested for acting as a middleman between the doctors and the accused's father. The peon was found taking a bribe of Rs 3 lakh, which was meant for the doctors to swap the blood samples.

The arrests were made after the accused's blood sample was found in the dustbin of the hospital.

On May 19, two IT professionals were killed in Kalyani Nagar in Pune after they were hit by a Porsche that was being driven by the drunk minor, who rammed the car into their two wheeler.

Following the incident, the 17-year-old minor was earlier granted bail and was asked to write a 300-word essay on traffic rules. However, after public outrage, he has now been sent to an observation home.

Meanwhile, his father, realtor Vishal Agarwal and grandfather Surendra Agarwal were held for allegedly kidnapping the family's driver and pressurising him to take the blame of the accident.

Surendra Agarwal was arrested for "wrongful confinement" under Sections 365 and 366 of the Indian Penal Code.
