Days after the Pune Porsche accident that claimed two lives, a similar road accident has been reported in Mumbai where a 32-year-old youth died after he collided with the bike of a 15-year-old minor. The accident happened in the Mazgaon area of Mumbai.
The incident occurred where a 15-year-old boy hit the youth, identified as Irfan Nawab Ali Shaikh, with his bike. The collision left the latter badly injured.
Irfan was rushed to the JJ hospital, however, he succumbed to death during the treatment at the hospital.
The 15-year-old accused has been detained by the JJ Marg police. The father of the teen, Javed Shafiq Ahmed Sheikh, has also been detained by the police. The JJ Marg police has registered a case under section 304(2) of IPC and section 3,4 of the Motor Vehicle Act.
Earlier this week, a minor aged 17 year killed 2 in a road car crash in Pune. The accused juvenile driver of the crashing Porsche was under the influence of alcohol.
After the death of two IT employees in the accident, locals held the boy and beat him up. The boy was then handed over to the police.
The Juveline was granted bail but was cancelled due to public outrage against the order of the court. As per the earlier bail order, the accused boy was asked to write a 300-word essay as one of the conditions. Other conditions of the bail included visiting the Regional Transport Office to study rules and regulations, working with traffic police for 2 weeks and an amount of Rs 7,500 as surety and an assurance from his grandfather to keep him away from “bad company”.
In the recent progress, a local court has sent the minor’s father along with two employees of the bar which served liquor to the minor and his friends, to a three-day police remand till May 24.
