Modi To Become First PM To Visit Birsa Munda's Birthplace During His 2-Day Visit To Jharkhand

PM Modi will embark on a two-day visit to Jharkhand on Tuesday. He will be the first Prime Minister to visit the birthplace of Birsa Munda there.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set for his visit to Jharkhand on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Prime Minister will visit Bhagwan Birsa Munda Memorial Park cum Freedom Fighter Museum in Ranchi on Wednesday at around 9:30 am. He will then reach Ulihatu Village, the birthplace of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, where he will pay floral tribute to the stature of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. He will be the first Prime Minister in India's history to visit the birthplace of Birsa Munda, according to an official release from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). 

PM Modi will also participate in a programme at around 11:30 AM to mark the celebration of the third Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, 2023 in Khunti. During the programme, he will launch ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ and Pradhan Mantri Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups Mission.

In Khunti during the same programme, he will release the 15th instalment of PM-KISAN. He will also inaugurate, dedicate to the nation and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects in Jharkhand.

Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra

This Yatra aims to create awareness and provide benefits of welfare schemes like sanitation facilities, essential financial services, electricity connections, access to LPG cylinders, housing for the poor, food security, proper nutrition, reliable healthcare, clean drinking water, etc. The enrolment of potential beneficiaries will be done through the details which will be ascertained during the Yatra. 

The Yatra will kick off in districts with significant tribal populations and by January 25th, it will cover all districts across the nation, as per the release.

PM PVTG Mission

There are 75 ‘Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups in 18 States and Union Territories living in 22,544 villages (220 districts) having a population of around 28 lakhs. These tribes stay in remote and inaccessible habitations that are often situated in forest areas.

Hence, a mission with a budget of Rs 24,000 crore is planned to saturate PVTG families and habitations with basic facilities such as road and telecom connectivity, electricity, safe housing, clean drinking water and sanitation, improved access to education, health and nutrition and sustainable livelihood opportunities, read the official release.
