Heavy rain in Mumbai has affected the local train services as tracks have been flooded.
Waterlogging in Maharashtra's Thane has caused local train services to come to a halt between the Badlapur and Ambernath section on Wednesday. Mumbai and Thane received heavy rainfall on Wednesday morning which led to flooding on the railway tracks. Following this, Central Railway's Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Dr Shivraj Manaspure said, "Badlapur-Ambernath section (UP + DOWN) closed from 11.05 hrs for traffic due to water-logging," as reported by news agency PTI.
Railway tracks between Badlapur and Ambernath stations got flooded at around 10:30 am on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the train services on the Panvel-Belapur Harbour Line route which were earlier affected which led to "point failure" (A fault with the movable pieces of the track or their operating equipment that enable trains to change tracks) at Panvel at 9.40 am were restored by 10 am, Manaspure said, as per PTI..
