'MP Sudip Banerjee Should Be Arrested': TMC's Kunal Ghosh Demands CBI, ED Probes Against Party Colleague

Calling for a probe, Ghosh questioned whether Sudip received significant amounts of money while under custody and whether he was admitted to Apollo hospital.

Former Trinamool spokesperson Kunal Ghosh on Saturday demanded an ED and CBI investigation against his own party MP Sudip Banerjee in connection with the coal scam case. Calling for a probe, Ghosh questioned whether Sudip received significant amounts of money while under custody and whether he was admitted to hospital.

Taking to X, Ghosh stated: "The bank accounts of Sudip Banerjee, MP and payments on behalf of him to Apollo, Bhubaneswar must be investigated. When he was in custody, whether a large amount paid to him or paid to hospital on behalf of him or not, that should be probed."

Kunal further asserted that Sudip Banerjee should be arrested for further investigation.

"If it is founded to be fact, then it may relate with coal scam and Banerjee should be arrested for further investigation. If agencies try to avoid this, I should move to Ld Court praying for investigation into this matter," he added.

Earlier on Friday, Ghosh resigned from the post of TMC spokesperson and on his official X handle stated: "I don't want to stay in the post of the state general secretary and spokesperson. I am a misfit in the system. I am unable to continue like this. I am a soldier of the party and will continue to work for the party. Please stop this rumour that I am planning to join another party."
