Flood In Pune

Maharashtra is still experiencing intense rains, which have caused waterlogging in a number of cities, including Thane, Palghar, Mumbai, Pune, and others. This has caused traffic jams and delayed train and airline operations. Due to continuous rain, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) decided to close all schools and colleges in Mumbai and Pune.

Pune Rain: 4 Deaths Till Now

Four people lost their lives in rain-related incidents in the district of Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune, while several residential areas were flooded. To expedite relief operations, the Pune local administration, under the leadership of District Magistrate (DM) Suhas Divsae, requested the help of army personnel.

Meanwhile, the Army was called in to evacuate the impacted individuals and relocate them to safer areas of Pune. About 400 people have been evacuated so far, according to reports. The heavily flooded Sinhagad Road area had two columns of the Army stationed there. In addition, groups from the district and city disaster management cells, the fire brigade, and the NDRF were called upon to assist with relief efforts.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has said the affected people would be airlifted to Pune in the event of a crisis as nonstop rain has flooded low-lying houses and residential colonies.
