Maharashtra: IMD Issues Orange Alert For 6 Districts, Mumbai Sees Less Intense Rainfall
The situation in Mumbai improved on Thursday, with no major water logging being reported as the rain intensity reduced.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for six districts in Maharashtra on Thursday as heavy rain continued to lash parts of state. The alert for 'heavy to very heavy rainfall' has been issued for the districts of Palghar, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Nasik and Pune.
Moreover, yellow alert has been issued for seven districts -- Mumbai, Sindhudurg, Dhule, Nandubrar, Jalgaon, Kolhapur, and Satara. Heavy rainfall in isolated areas are predicted for these seven districts, reported news agency ANI.

Three deaths have been reported in two days in Mumbai due to tree fall incidents amid rains. On Thursday, a 22-year-old person was killed and another one injured after a tree fell on their hut in Mumbai.
Heavy rains on Tuesday and Wednesday hit normal life in Mumbai, resulting in huge traffic jams and waterlogging in several areas. The situation improved on Thursday, with no major water logging being reported as the rain intensity reduced.
Bus services of the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) plied on Thursday without any diversion, PTI reported.
Suburban services on the Central Railway and Western Railway were normal though the trains were running a few minutes late in the morning.

Meanwhile, the Congress lashed out at the Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government on monsoon preparedness, saying their claims have turned "false".
"Honest tax payers suffer due to the corrupt and inefficient civic administration. All claims of the Mumbai civic administration and the Shinde government on monsoon preparedness have turned false," PTI quoted Mumbai Congress president Varsha Gaikwad as saying.
