RG Kar Doctor Death LIVE Updates: Hello and welcome to the Live blog brought to you by ABP Live. Please follow this space and keep refreshing the page for all the latest updates in the case of the rape and murder of a trainee doctor in West Bengal's Kolkata. Unidentified miscreants entered the premises of state-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata shortly after midnight on Thursday and vandalised portions of the medical facility, where the body of a woman doctor was found last week. Several videos of the incident surfaced on social media, where unknown hooligans can be seen storming into the RG Kar Medical College premises and disrupting the peaceful midnight protest against the August 9 murder and rape of a trainee doctor and vandalising the vehicles, and public property, forcing security officials to disperse the mob.

According to the police, a group of nearly 40 people, allegedly disguised as protestors, entered the hospital premises, vandalised property and pelted stones at police personnel prompting them to fire teargas to disperse the mob. A police vehicle and a few two-wheelers at the spot were also damaged in the incident, they said. Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Suvendu Adhikari has alleged that the vandalism was carried out by "Trinamool National Congress (TMC) goons" sent by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The BJP has also demanded the resignation of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over the vandalism at the state-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital where junior doctors are protesting the alleged rape and murder of a post-graduate trainee last week.

The semi-naked body of the 32-year-old woman was found on August 9 morning in the seminar hall of the government-run hospital in the West Bengal capital. A civic volunteer has been arrested in connection with the crime. The Calcutta High Court on Tuesday ordered the transfer of the probe into the case from the Kolkata Police to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
