A heartwrenching visual showed a two-storey house on the banks of Manimala river cracking up from the road, titling and then suddenly collapsing and getting washed away.

Chennai: The India Meteorological Department has forcast some relief for Kerala after several days of heavy rain and devastation, saying the low-pressure area over the Southeast Arabian sea and adjoining Kerala has weakened. The IMD, however, still predicted heavy rainfall for the next 3-4 days, and issued a yellow alert for 11 districts including Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode and Pathanamthitta.

Until now, the state has seen over 22 deaths.

A heartwrenching visual showed a two-storey house on the banks of Manimala river, which was in full spate, cracking up from the road, titling and then suddenly collapsing and washing away within a few seconds. The incident took place in Mundakayam of Kottayam district in Kerala, during the recent rains that have played havoc in the state.

In a video of the incident that has gone viral, the house was clearly seen cracking up and within a matter of a few seconds collapsing into the river.

The strong current instantly washed away the whole house without any evidence. The shocked residents who shot the video could be heard screaming and wailing. The incident reportedly took place on October 17. The occupants of the house, Reji and his family, had been evacuated in time, The News Minute reported.
