Cricketer Kedar Jadhav's Father Goes Missing In Pune, Search Operation Launched: Report
Kedar and his father Mahadev are said to be residents of the Kothrud neighborhood in Pune city, according to the missing report.
After Indian cricketer Kedar Jadhav filed a missing person report at the Alankar Police Station on Monday, the police reported that the cricketer's father went missing from their Pune home on Monday morning, reported news agency PTI.
The search for Mahadev Jadhav, 75, has been launched by the police. Kedar and Mahadev are said to be residents of the Kothrud neighborhood in Pune city, according to the missing report.
"Mahadev Jadhav went missing after he left home for a morning walk. He left the gate of the housing complex and has not been seen since. A missing person case has been registered and efforts are on to trace him," the official said.
Mahadev Jadhav was 5 feet 6 inches tall, had a surgery mark on his left side of the face, was wearing a white shirt, grey pants, black chappals, socks, and glasses, as described in the missing report. He is said to speak Marathi, and his right hand has two gold rings in its fingers. However, he did not have a cell phone with him.
“My father Mahadev Jadhav (75) has gone missing since morning 11.45 from our residence. I stay at Kothrud near City Pride theatre along with my father and mother Mandakini (65). He made a few rounds in our parking lot and then suddenly went out of the gate. We tried to locate him, but could not find him so I am giving this missing person’s complaint," said Kedar as quoted by Hindustan Times.
“My father is wearing a white shirt and grey pants and wearing black chappals. He is fair in colour, wearing spectacles and has a mark on his cheek owing to surgery. He is not carrying any money or a mobile with him. He speaks Marathi but could not speak continuously,” Kedar stated.
A senior police officer confirmed the start of a search by a team led by senior police inspector Rajendra Sahane. The officer urged anyone with information about Mahadev Jadhav to get in touch with the Pune city police.
Kedar Jadhav has been a member of the Maharashtra Ranji team since 2007 and has played for India in 73 One-Day Internationals.
