'Nitish Kumar Being Weakened': JDU's Upendra Kushwaha Asks For Details Of 'Deal' With RJD

JDU leader Upendra Kushwaha said that a conspiracy is being hatched to weaken Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and asked the party high-command to reveal the 'deal' made with RJD.

New Delhi: The political air has become intense in the state of Bihar once again as Janta Dal United (JDU) leader Upendra Kushwaha has alleged that attempts are being made to weaken Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Kushwaha, who is also the JDU Parliamentary Board President, said that officially it is being told that a deal was made with the Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) at the time of forming the Mahagathbandhan. He said that he also wants to know about that ‘deal’.

Kushwaha addressed the press at his residence on Tuesday and said that people make personal comments about him. “I request with folded hands that if anyone wants to abuse me, do it but do not weaken the JDU,” he said.

The leader added that RJD members are saying a deal was struck before the formation of the grand alliance.

“The people who have made the deal should tell what the deal is. Do you want to remove Nitish Kumar? This information should be given. A conspiracy is being hatched to weaken Nitish Kumar,” he said.

Upendra Kushwaha alleged that the most backward communities, Dalit, and Mahadalit societies are being weakened. He said that he was not included in JDU’s programme and was sidelined yesterday as well as today.

He further said that he is ready to meet CM Nitish whenever the latter calls him. “Nitish Kumar ji should understand the conspiracy. I'm ready to talk when you call me,” Kushwaha said.

He also urged JDU’s national president Lalan Singh to call a party meeting and open up about the deal with the RJD.

He said, “We will not watch blindly. JDU's national executive meeting should be called. Tell me what deal was made before the formation of the Grand Alliance.”

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar's Reaction

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has reacted to the issues raised by JDU leader Upendra Kushwaha. He said that he will not say anything on whatever Kushwaha says.

The CM added asked the reporters to approach Kushwaha only if they have any questions.
